The London Cleaners

Community London Clean-Up

Volunteers worked hard over the weekend to clean up a road in Palmers Green, Enfield.  The area is a popular fly-tipping site and fed-up residents were happy to take matters into their own hands.  Barclays Bank also donated £500 towards cleaning equipment and decoration.

The group picked litter, got rid of rubbish, tended to weeds and pruned trees.  In the coming weeks flowers will be planted to further enhance the roadside spot.

The council spends approx. £32 million per year on keeping the city’s streets clean.  But it seems the key to a cleaner London lies in projects like this one, which boost community spirit and encourage responsibility.
