We spend one third of our lives sleeping. This is reflected in the amount of dust and debris that can be found in the bedroom. But a recent survey revealed that over half of us sleep in dirty sheets – only 40% of us change our bed sheets once a week.
The YouGov poll questioned 2000 UK adults about their cleaning habits. 36% of participants cleaned their bedding every 2 weeks. 17% admitted to changing their linen just once a month, or even less frequently.
This not good news for those who suffer from allergies. During sleep our bodies shed skin, and secrete sweat and oils. Dirty bedding creates the perfect environment for dust mites because they feed off dead skin cells. These microscopic mites are known to cause asthma and rhinitis symptoms.back to news
